Greetings:

I haven't been here in a while - that just goes to show that the boys at ComCast ___ HAD ___ worked the bugs out of the system here in Harrisburg, PA. Now, since last week ( 12AM on the 27th or 28th ) they seem to be having problems again. At that time the system went down for about an hour for "system maintenance".

Does anyone know of a recent SYSTEM change that would cause some delayed updates to web pages? By this I mean that you go to a web page, then go away and come back to it an hour later AND IT HASN'T CHANGED! If you then hit REFRESH a few time you get what APPEARS to be the current webpage - sometimes if you hit REFRESH three times in a row you will get 2 or 3 DIFFERENT version of the page. It almost looks as though they turned their caching servers back on - I though they were told to turn them off?

Anyway - any info would help.

Thanks - Roy

Maybe I didn't make this clear - this problem only appeared AFTER whatever maintenance it was that Comcast did. Before that I had not seen this kind of multiple paages from the past thing AT ALL.

It isn't disasterous - just hit REFRESH a few times to make sure the page you are looking at is up to date.

As for the specs: Win98SE IE5.5 P-II 300MHz SurfBoard modem 162 Megabyte RAM --- and the IE cache is set for 100 MByte -- its been working that way for 1 year or so.

Comcast may be storing cache on their routers like other ISP's do.
