sending files

Hi, I hope someone here can help or is having a similiar problem as me. When I go to trade mp3s or movies with my friends on Yahoo Messanger I keep getting file is to big and it won't send. I get a similar error when I try to send files of the same type on MSN IM except it times out or gives me some other kind of error.. But when I am on my 56k modem I can send files fine. So It can't be my computer doing this. I never had this problem before I got powerlink. So does anyone know what's up with that? The only files I know I can trade are my jpg images. I using an external surfboard SB100 on a one way cable service. I am not using a router either
