Need recommendations re: DSL modem

I've got the opportunity to upgrade my DSL to 8.1 Mb (no, that's not a typo.), and am looking for info as to which modem would be best. Any info out there?

I would think you need to ask your ISP as to what modem you need to use

This is a new enough, and high end enough, service that a dialogue between myself and the ISP regarding equipment is plausible and reasonable.

Now is there hard info out there regarding what DSL modems actually perform well at 8.1Mb/s?
