newbie needs help with RR/router setup

I've got RR, a Motorola SB4200 modem and a Leviton 47611-GTY router. I'm runnig XP Home on a relatively new Sony. What do I do to get them all talking? Things are fine if I connect the modem and PC directly, but once the router's in the mix, no joy. :(

It seems that I need to synch the MAC addresses in the router and modem, but the router's is a read-only field.

As for the RR, the router gives me choices of IP Dynamic, Fixed and PPoE. I'm thinking IP Dynamic. Any hints on the config parameters? Do I need a domain name, machine name and DNS addressess.

does the router have any info with it on how to set it up?

my nexland is set to obtain IP and DNS automatically, is that an option in the main setup screen for ur router?

yeah, thanks, my router is set to auto for both IP and DNS. I'm guessing that this is a MAC issue.

Anyone have any ideas?:D

Have you try to unplug the modem ? so the modem will reset unplug the modem, reboot your system when it up and running plug the modem back in .you can not use the stanby switch you have to upplug it
