My system will barely be able to play this:

P3 866, gf3ti500, 512 ram, and win98se

I need to upgrade badly

Minimum spec 16 meg vid card? LOL....wow, they really lowered that, thought it was to be minimum 32 meg.....but still slow on that.

Just like most box minimum specs...don't follow the box...the old rule of thumb was double the min specs.

Oh wait I read that wrong, I thought that was minimum specs, if those are recommended, then I should be ok I hope.

While it would hurt their customer base and reduce sales most likely, I wish more PC software makers would get the balls to put something like this on the side of their boxes (and you know they'd love to).

Minimum Requirements:
Seriously, if you want to get the maximum enjoyment out of this, please do not even think of installing this software unless you can go on message boards and gloat about your 3DMark score. Thanks!

Did they release a demo yet?

I would really like to know if it will run decent on my machine before I spend $50 on it.

If I have to play at 640x480 resoultion then forget about it.

I don't see why it'd run at such a low resolution. I'd imagine it goes up to 1280x1024 at least.

I hope you right, I will be happy with 1024x768 that is what I play most games at.

John you make me real happy, but just curious what is the CPU speed of your laptop? I know my gf3ti500 is good and can last for a few more years, it is my processor that is the bottleneck. Also what resolution were you running it at?

Last question how did you get a copy? are you a beta user?

Thanks

There are a couple leaked demos out. I have had both, one of them is really good...has atleast 5+ maps for each game type.

The beta i played was darn awful :(

Bots went from ***** hot to plain ol *****...

looks lovely of course, but it did skip a bit even on my reasonable system...

and the pacing of the game didnt seem quite there... a lil bit too slow for online fragfests if you get my drift...

the engine and almost nen existent front end were as rough as a badgers arse too boot...

However with all the engine optimisations and adjustments that appear to have been made, im looking forward to it :)

I picked up a Radeon 8500...got a good deal on it, couldn't really pass it up...

Compared to what I had, this thing is light years beyond...
