What the heck happened to my sound

OK I think there are Gremlins in my system. I have no sound. the deive manager shows nocoflicts and the driver is installed properly. The (win98se) little speaker ICON in the systray GONE. Have no sound control in control panel and no multimedia setting either , wha thte heck

ok here is what i think happened. Dazzle sent me a update disk and instead of unistalling the first version.yada yada yada to make a long story short. How can i re-install windows 98 without loosing what i have. I just need the multi media crap re-installed

I haven't used 98 in a while, but you should be able to do it in control panel. Go to add/remove programs, windows components, and remove them. Reboot and add them back again. Might work.

WEll I got impatient, prob. how igot in this problem in the first place ...got it back after reloading 98se...thansk anyways guys
