IP address exposed question

If someone know your ip address, but if you behind a firewall like ZA, are you safe? I don't know much about hacking so just wondering cuz me and my friends might run some sharing software and we both will see each other ip. Just wonder if I am safe if others might see it and I am behind a firewall.

CAT5: Your never 100% safe.But if your behind a router your safer than not having one,If you run a firewall program too, you safer than not having one.The bottom line is this if someone knows your ip and want to hack you bad enough and know what there doing they can hack you.But for the most part you would be safe.The fact is that there are very few real hacker out there, what is out there is kids and want to be hacker who go to hacker web page and down load little program and call them self hacker.
Also a lot of this program have to be download to your computer before they will work in the form of trojan . so if you run a good firewall and have an up to date virus scan program that look for trojan you should be fairly safe.
