View Full Version : Can't connect to speedstream 5660
I upgraded the firmware on my speedstream 5260 so that it now behaves like a 5660 and it was working fine. However, I changed the router's ip address to 192.168.255.255 and since have been unable to ping/telnet into it. I have since found out that 192.168.255.255 is reserved for system use and you shouldn't set anything's ip to it. My problem is that there is no way to reset the router without telneting into it and I can't telnet in since that ip is reserved. Please say someone knows something I can try.
Thanks.
Not sure if this will help or not. Most routers have a rs232 connector on the back of them. You could connect your pc to the router via the cable then flash the rom chip in the router. This should set everything back to default settings.
I had to do this on my netgear when I forgot the password to the router and it wouldn't let me back in.
