The link above illustrates some of the details but it does look like it has a NIC input.

Problem...one is an e-machine that is already hooked up via the USB, so I don't know what unit to use (router) to hook up the main machine that has a NIC card.

Any suggestions?

Are you saying the modem you have does not have a ethernet connection? If it does not you can put a nic in the e-machine and establist a network with the other computer via a crossover cable (simple network). Then enable ICS on the two rigs so that the e-machine is the host and the other is the client. The e-mcahine will have to be on for the other to have internet connection. If the mocem has a ethernet connection then buy a router and set it up as per the included instructions.

That modem has a J-45 plug on it for a router or nic card.You can't use a usb on a router< so can! the usb and use the J-45 plug. it is the plug on the right on the pic .
