hi, all of a sudden the last week or so my computer has been loading the pages slower. i'm useing a receive window 256960, like i've always have been since it worked the best. also my download speed is fast then slow. something went south. i don't remember if window scaling should be checked. it is anyways. i backed up the registry when it was runing good. i've tried to reinstall the registry. nothing happen. i just right clicked on it and hit merge. then rebooted. same results please help carl

Well...your ISP may have performed an upgrade and now you may need to use a smaller RWIN...remember....BIG rwins with high latency....small rwins with low latency....
If you are starting out fast and then drop off...then back off that RWIN a tad...let's drop her down to 128480....if that doesn't work better, then drop it down to 64240.(make sure window scaling is turned off for the 64240).
What are your ping rates to various servers? How about you ping SG and let's see your latency.

ok , sorry about not getting back to your reply, but worked some crazy hours the past 2 days. i tried lowering the rwin and it was worse. the download test jumps from good to bad at times. seems like when i go to open a page sometimes it takes forever. also how do i ping sg. i can try that and let you know. maybe it's a hardware problem. because sometimes when i do a cleanup disk the system freezes. lets try the ping test first if someone can tell me how. thanks carl

Your latency seems fine, if lowering your RWIN was worse try 64240, 75920 or 93440.:) :D
i tried all of them. cleared history internet files each time, rebooted. the one that works the best is 64240. without window scaling. my download isn't as fast as it use to be but better. downloading a big file it starts low about 82 mb then steadys at 150's one time it was like it use to be steady at 180. it seems to be all over the place. also the problem with loading pages is still there. not all the time but when it does i have to hit refresh to get it to come up.

Well your speed is great for your caps which are 1500 down, so I would leave things as they are. Have you tried the faster page loading tweak in my Help & Tips thread?:) ;)
i downloaded the patch from sg before. i don't know if it is still in there or not. i tried putting it back in to make sure. but an still not sure if it's there or not.

Do not use the patch, it will raise your RWIN to 256960 and your speeds are great with a RWIN or 64240. Open Cablenut again and manually put in the settings I suggested above and save to registry and reboot.:) ;)
i don't have cablenut. i manually put my rwin in. with tcp optimizer
