Thanx alot for replying back.... I tried the settings you recommended on both computers- here's the speed I got

A 39.1 KB/sec transfer rate.

I think I should test my connection from a server that is running locally instead of internationally...

This is so weird, just yesterday evening I clocked my speed at pcpitstop.com at 512kbps... which is around 64KB/sec

Let me know if you have anything else in mind...
