I wanted to tweak my computer at work. To see if i can improve my Internet speed. The only thing is I dont know what my speed caps are here at work. Is there a way to find out?

TCP properties for IP =
Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; Hotbar 4.0; .NET CLR 1.0.3705)
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 0204056401010402

MTU = 1420
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.

MSS = 1380
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1380, which equals MSS.
MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64860
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64860
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
507840 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 8)
253920 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 4)
126960 (MSS x 46 * scale factor of 2)
63480 (MSS x 46)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2594.4 kbps (324.3 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1037.76 kbps (129.72 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 116 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

click on tcp optimzer in my sig download it and run it 0select cable modem on bottom and optimal settings in the bottom save changes and reboot goto speed test in my sig select the state u are in or the closet one to it countries are in right of that page. take like 3-5 speed test and repost with the resaults.

http://www.student.ipfw.edu/~gottjl01/files/cablenut408.exe download and install and run cable nut software try thease settings then follow that page for the rest I'm assuming that ur capp is 1.5/1.5

DefaultReceiveWindow = 19200
default send window =19200
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize 51100,64240, 128480 anyone of those3
tcpwindows size 51100,64240,128240,
tcp opts should be one if tcpwindows size is higer then 6553

so for example if you try the 128480 you did to set tcp opts to 1

http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=643301#post643301

have fun don't foget to reboot and apply changes take 3-5 speed test and repost with the resault thank u

Try what Bob Carrick posted here (http://www.dslnuts.com/yabbse/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=597), it didn't work for that guy but it might be your solution.:)
