I'm using Cox HSI. And I got a router to network the PCs and ever since they've been networked my download has been great but my upload is just pathetic it's not even close to the upload cap I was given. I am running Windows XP and I've tweaked the connection already and like I said it's only the upload that's slow.
The network is wireless and it's a d-link router.

first goto my computer network and make sure you have the network cards on 100tx full duplex with the router make sure you have the latest firmware also goto the tourter's ip page and see if there is an mtu setting if so change that to 1500 www.dlink.com should have the firmware. Alos you might wanna check netwoking help in my sig :D

I did everything you said expect changing the MTU thing because I don't know how to do that on the ip page for my router. I'm still having slow upload speeds though..

What kind of uploads are you getting? If your RWIN is really high it can adversly effect your upload. I don't know your current settings but I have Cox also try my settings in Cablenut and see if they help any:

DefaultReceiveWindow = 384000
DefaultSendWindow = 32768
DisableAddressSharing = 1
InitialLargeBufferCount = 100
InitialMediumBufferCount = 240
InitialSmallBufferCount = 320
LargeBufferSize = 81920
MaxFastTransmit = 64000
MediumBufferSize = 15040
PriorityBoost = 0
SmallBufferSize = 1280
TransmitWorker = 32
FastSendDatagramThreshold = 4096
EnableFastRouteLookup = 1
EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1
IgnorePushBitsOnReceive = 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = 64240
MaxFreeTcbs = 8000
MaxHashTableSize = 16384
MaxNormLookupMemory = 5000000
SackOpts = 1
SynAttackProtect = 1
Tcp1323Opts = 0
TcpLogLevel = 1
TcpMaxDupAcks = 2
TcpMaxHalfOpen = 100
TcpMaxHalfRetried = 80
TcpRecvSegmentSize = 1460
TcpSendSegmentSize = 1460
TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30
TcpUseRFC1122UrgentPointer = 0
TcpWindowSize = 64240
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 40
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 20
DefaultTTL = 64
DisableUserTOSSetting = 0
TcpMaxDataRetransmissions = 6
DefaultTOSValue = 92

Also make sure all the pc's connected to the router have thier NIC duplex mode set to 100mb full duplex and also try the my other suggestions in the Help & Tips link in my signature.
:) :D

I have Cox as well, here are the speeds I am getting:
2002-08-20 11:44:25 EST: 2227 / 19
Your download speed : 2227200 bps, or 2227 kbps.
A 271.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 19132 bps, or 19 kbps.
Your upstream result was very slow! .. not good
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Here's the results from the speed test after using your settings:
2002-08-20 14:28:22 EST: 1911 / 233
Your download speed : 1911137 bps, or 1911 kbps.
A 233.2 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 233972 bps, or 233 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

Your upload looks allot better and your download is about the same. Your download will fluctuate from test to test so I wouldn't woryy too much about it, does it seem allot better? You might try raising your TcpReceiveWindow & GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize to 96360 or 128480, if you do remember to set Tcp1323Opts to 1.:) ;)
