From there you can troubleshoot what's wrong with something.

What is the issue you are having?

Packet loss, around 10 to 50 percent from time to time, when I have my IDSL (144 k / 144 k) modem connected directly to my computer I get 0 packet loss.. but with the router the packet loss comes back.

Got the newest firmware, and newest Nic Drivers btw, and the cables aren't the problem either replaced those a few days ago.

from a system behind the router, run a 10 minute ping to 192.168.1.1

Have you set your NIC to full duplex and tried a ping test?
