Lately I've noticed when surfing the internet that when i click the back button instead of bringing me back to the previous page it says Connecting to 127.0.0.1 or something like that and then i must click the back button again for it to go back. Why is it doing that and how could i fix it?

That doesn't have anything to do with your connection.

127.0.0.1 is your localhost (your machine, to itself)

What version of what browser, whith which firewall and what P2P file sharing programs do you use?

Start>Control Panel>Network Connections> right click on Local Area Network connctoid. (Windows Classic view setting)

Select Properties.

Left click the Advanced tab

There is the built in firewall in XP.

Something is redirecting your browser to <localhost>, more than likely it is some form of spyware that is recording/transmitting your surfing habits.

Have you run Ad-Aware on this machine, to see what is listening to what you do? If not, check it out at

removed all the spyware from my computer and it continues to it, and also it has been loading pages incredibly slower as well,.

Are you using any ad blocking software or hosts file? Open Internet Explorer and select Tools - Internet Options - Connections tab and select LAN Settings make sure EVERYTHING there is unchecked and select OK.

i tryed disabling the firewall protection and after i couldn't connect to any sites. it is still running rather slow and i don't know why.

TCP options string = 020405a001010402

MTU = 1480
MTU is optimized for Windows XP PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

MSS = 1440
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1440, which equals MSS.
MSS is optimized for Windows XP PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 64800
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64800
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63360 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2592 kbps (324 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1036.8 kbps (129.6 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 118 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
