I have even increased the clock speed on both of my machines by 10% in an effort to get more folding done. Not sure how much you can overclock a system before it causes damage or goes unstable without doing any extra cooling, but the 10% overall seem to work fine.

Sadly I got no way to increase the FSB speed without the PCI speed at the same time, the 2 numbers seem to be linked in my BIOS. I assume that some card on the PCI bus will fail first if it goes too high.

10% will help. As long as your temps are ok, and the machine seems stable they should be ok.

Hard to tell what the temps are. The CPU fan does not feel hot, but I got no way of telling what the actual core temp is. I always run my boxes without their cases to allow the air to flow freely and to get access to cards quickly.

Even if I knew what the core temp is, I got no idea what is a safe temp and what is a hot temp.

Some of my machines run about 50 to 52C, and they are working ok. I am not sure what the max temp is for these AMD procs. I believe Ken or Chris knows for sure, or you could try Intel website as you run these. To help keep my machines cool I use a house fan blowing over the open case. I was thinking about using water to cool but the cost for 8 computers would be pretty high I think, also would have to run a car radiator with fans just to cool down the water.;) You might try your MB manufacturer to see if they have a monitoring program.
