Ok, is there a way when you reinstall your OS (Win XP), to completley remove all traces of the previous registry. Completely Bye, Bye? And 2, When formatting in NTFS, what would be a good cluster size to use? There is many choices for size and i was wondering what would be an optimal size? Lager better? or medium better, or smaller the better? why? or why not?:D

okay you want really delete everything, to reinstall, okay
tools needed:
one philips screwdriver
*and a friend that runs a magnet crane at the local scrap/metal yard.*

Directions:
powerdown computer and unplug.
remove case from your computer by removing the four/or more screws holding it on.
now carefully ground your self by touching the case of your computer and your monitor this frees the static. Now look for your harddrive, when located pull the ide/scsi cable from it and pull the power cords too.. now find the two/or more screws holding it in place and loosen them till you can pull your harddrive out completely of the computer.. now find *friend* and put the harddrive really close the the magnet ..

By doing that it pulls the cylinder head across the disk and it wipes the drive of all data.

Now put harddrive back in to computer with reverse procedure.
Viola.

but if you really want an easy way.. why do people like the easy way...
here it is.. use this prog. (http://www.skylarkutilities.com/program.pcs?wipe-it)
thank me later.

For Cluster Sizes..
Okay Use the larger, because NTFS doesn't fragment as much as FAT file structures.

When you format the drive it will over write the registry. If you want to make sure its gone delete the partition then recreate it. I perfer to use the default cluster size of 4k. NTFS is very effeciant on large drives. The larger the cluster size the more wasted space.
