Lobo,
i have a question
i ran the DOS speed test and the FTP speed test each 4 times and same results each time take a look below at screenshots

can you tell me why im getting alot faster with FTP then with the DOS ? and as you say they are both accurate speed tests so wich one it the correct one?
Time of day . number of people on net, hope you have alot of RAM, you have all that fancy stuff on, see XP tweaks, best performance:)

sorry i'm not lobo the reason you are getting faster resaults are due to the fact you are not using as much resources as you would with windows. That and also with dos you don't have to worry about rwin, protocol settings as much. Hoped that help. Anyone got any other ideals jump in:D

what fancy stuff?
and i dont have tons of RAM i have 256MB

noaht1980 these tests are like any other, they will fluctuate depending on how busy their servers are, how busy your ISPs servers are and such. It also depends on how far away you are from their servers. They are more accurate than a Speakeasy test but nothing is 100% perfect. You have enough RAM although with 2K & XP the more the better.

3.) Go to control panel, system, advanced tab at top,performance, settings, click on best performance,then advanced tab at top, background services, then programs :)
Turn off system restore if it's on, turn everthing off for speed testing:)
