Sorry guyz, but i gotta bow outta this round. Blind as a bat on acount my vid card just went "sizzle". All i have now is my 2nd rig with a crappy 16mb trident vid card and even with that i can't see the screen. Visuals are all warped somehow. I won't be able to get a new vid card for at least a month.

I'll keep my 2nd rig afloat but dunno how much it's gonna do.

I'll try and drop by when i can. Trying to see some clarity on this thing is giving me a headache.


This is very depressing. My guess is the factory fan on the vid card just went out, temps skyrocketed untill poof, black screen. My main still boots cuz i hear it, the beeps are normal and i see HD activity. Of course i do get an error beep which means my vid card is out.

That's pretty much it

I feel for you


shortly after I put together my

Epox 8k3a /XP 1700 rig I lost it due to a small mistake a made when I put it a new HSF... (that was around May 25th)
It's still down...


Just recently I lost my

Abit KG7/1.4ghz Athlon rig due to (hopefully a dead PSU)

out of 5 computers I have 3 working right now...


I'm still not quite sure what all is broken in the Epox rig.
Might only be the PSU
but it could be
PSU + RAM and Mobo

But i dunno for how long. I added a giant hsf to the vid card and since there was no way of attaching it with the pins, i used some giant rubberbands to hold it in place. Looks kinda corny, but it's working. I dunno what to use to cool my card, but i'll keep crunchin away. I pray i don't fry my card.

Dang Bala, i feel for you to bro. Hope you get those rigs back up ;)

LT hope you used some heatsink compound otherwise you may overheat that videocard. I think blueorb makes a heatsinkfan for videocards that sells for less than $10. I use them on a couple of my machines and they seem to work pretty good. I use thermal tape to attach them.

Yup, i used artic silver. I'm gonna need some thermal epoxy tho if i decide to leave it.

Did a little modding to get my vid card cooler, got it done and i'm back in the Fold! :D

sounds simple and lame but i put in a pci slot fan card costs about 12$ its a pci card but really a exhaust fan, anyway it sucks the heat off the card(video) and blows out the case, since then i have been busting the charts, lol 1.6 is a very ov clockable chip with 1.25 gig of ram!

i ordered the extra case fan cuz at 51cfm and only at only 5 bucks, it was a steal. gonna replace the one on the side of my case with it. :D
