There are instructions on how to join our Folding, Genome, or Seti team. All you have to do is download the software for one of the three programs, and when it asks you for a team number, you have to put the according team number there (except for Seti). For our folding team, it's team number 15, for genome it's 334848599, and to join our seti team, you have to use this link: http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/cgi?cmd=team_join_form&id=60441.
Hope this help,
Ronald

Haven't been folding for quite a bit (genoming now...), so things may have changed a bit. But back when I used to do it, there was a time-out limit of like 3 days in which the work unit had to be returned for it to count, because delivered work units are the basis for additional work, so the work completed must be somewhat in sequence. If this is still in effect, you may want to make sure that you complete a work unit in time, otherwise it's no good.
Aside from that, Folding will usually run very smootly in the background, using your CPU's idle cycles to do helpful work. Oh, did you get the console version? Because it folds faster than the screensaver version.
Lastly, there's a program out called EM (electronic microscope? for folding, or something like that) which even allows you to monitor folding progress of networked machines etc. You may want to look/ask for it over in our team forum. This tool also allows you to hide the ugly folding window and clear up your task bar, you can configure it in a way where you don't even have a tray icon shown.
Cheers,
Ronald

Folding uses whatever CPU power all other programs do not use... so yes, it's normal that it's permanently at 100%. If all other applications do not consume any CPU power at all, folding gets 100%. If the other apps consume 40%, folding gets 60%.
Folding has the lowest process priority class and will thus not take away any power from other applications.
Cheers,
Ronald
Let us know if you have any problems!
Welcome to the Fold HybridMonolith !!:D

EM (electron microscope) seems to work vry nice with my machines. You can find the link in the team info sticky at the top of this forum page. http://www.em-dc.com/ (or use this address.)
