View Full Version : Machine ID=?
Ok I think I've got this, but maybe someone with more experience at folding can answer this. Is it necessary to order your boxes with Machine ID=1 Machine Id=2........ Or only on Dual Processor systems? IE, you give each instance of folding it's own Machine ID. Right now only my dually system has Machine ID=1 and Machine ID=2 for the instances of Folding. Every other machine has Machine ID=1. Is this correct?

That should work. To the best of my knowledge you only need to change the ID# when running multi-proc machines. That is the way I did it in the past, and it worked for me.
As you Emobley already stated that is correct. Only change the Machine ID# when you are running multiple clients on a dual proc system.

That's what I thought. I originally set it up here on my dually with both clients running as Machine ID=1, then I got up this morning and fired up KDFold and saw that both clients on this machine were folding the same protein. That's when I looked at the message boards and found out about the Machine ID= thing. It didn't mention anything more and was pretty basic. I just wanted to make sure what I was doing was correct. Thanks.
