Hello,

i have dsl and im not using the RJ11 cable they sent me cause it wont fit from the back of dsl modem to phone line so i was wondering if i bought a longer rj45 cable and moved the modem closer to the phone outlet and ran the rj11 cable instead of my own 20 foot regular phone cord im using if it will make much of a differance ?

verizon said they are suprised i get 1300 plus download ever since my modem 20 feet from the phone line its connected to they told me it should be 4-6 feet away no more

so does anyone know if i will do what i mentioned above if i will get faster dl or is verizon just telling me that lol

u need to use the rj11 then rj45 it should fit in back of the modem. i doubt that the distance is causing u performace i highly doubt that

The distance of you CO can vary. Its not a straight line to the CO, its the distance of WIRE to your CO. You can be 3 feet from the CO, but have to modem conneected with 5000 feet of cablining, and have awful speed.
