I've tried to seach ,but was unable to find in these pages. What is the best way to back up the registry before making any changes???? I've seen "REGEDIT" as well as "SCANREGW" as ways to make backups to the registry.
Which is the 'proper' or best one to use if I'm planning to download a 'patch' or other 'tweaking' tool??
If one is better than the other, what are the differences between the two.
Thanks

goto start run then regedit and click registry then click on export registry file save to a disk and that's it that's the way i do it. It's qucik easy and also you don't have to download and install anything else. :D

So if I understand, I should do as you say above, prior to making any registry changes. Before doing so I should 'export' it to somewhere I feel it's safe.
Later (after doing the above,), if I find that the 'tweaks' or 'patches' I've used have have made things worse instead of better. At this point, can I just go back to 'redegit' again, and this time, reinstall or 'Import' the settings I had saved(exported) earlier??
Thanks for your help.Brentski
