I just recently got a D-LINK DI-604 router so that I could hook up my other system. What I want to do is have both of them be able to log into a online game I play Asheron's Call.

The game is played through the Zone.com

Thing is when I try to connect to the game it never passes the long in screen, on either computer. When the PCs are connected straight to my cable modem it works fine, but not through the router. The settings for the game has an options for auto detect ports or choose a port. I've tried both of these and nada..

I'm assuming there is something I need to do in order to open a port to allow the systems to connect.
Anyone out htere fimilar with D-LINK..

any help suggests would help

thanks

Actually I did fix it..

After hours of looking this and that. Reading various forums, where I posted the same questions. I went on a search for a solution.. I dug through my car, my wallet, my desk, old bags, and finally in my computer room on the other side of the trashcan beside the table with a little lite. I found the solution. A receipt. with 2 days left before it expires.. A trip back to best buy and an exchange took place for a Lynkeys router.

back home now.. 4 mins later, both computers running and working find.. problem solved.

If you get hooked into online gaming, especially where speed and ping is concerned, such as with some FPS type games....step up to the Nexland ISB SOHO....one brutally fast router aimed at gamers!
