Pagefile HELP??

anybody have any suggestions on the pagefile setting in xp. The system below and a P4 512DDR xp home system. right now its set at 1500. Just seeing what you guys have it at. or whats best.

Set both min & max to the same amount, with the amount of RAM you have I would suggest 384 for each.;)

Pagefile is just the windows swapfile...virtual memory. Programs first use your systems memory...but when more memory is needed, it resorts to using a space on the hard drive...which is much slower than system memory, but better than nothing at all. Think of it as a chalkboard or scratchpad to write/erase/write/erase stuff on.

Win9X would pretty much take care of dynamically adjusting this and managing it by itself, but 2K/XP, being Windows NT based, doesn't yet...it's still user managed.
