Thanks for the site.

My take on it is already on record. The VBulletin service is very important and necessary and I don't wish to criticise in any way but:

Nowhere that I have seen is there a list of the viruses that AVG (or any AV program) has caught/missed during these tests. Maybe that is available to those who pay for membership.
Miss only one virus...FAIL.
Miss 20 of them........FAIL.
Miss all of them.........FAIL.
Maybe the failure rate should be expressed as a percentage as well as the success rate.

Maybe I am missing something here but all AV programs have failed at one point or another. VBulletin's history list will show that

Fact is, AVG is small, free, easy to use, and, to date has not let me down. It's heuristic scanning qualities are good and it works well with email protection. I am happy with it being my only "active" AV program but I do use the services of online scanners and lately, a program called Antidote. This is a manual scanning program only but has a huge list of virus defs to go through. The only problem with it is the d/load is weekly otherwise it won't work. Norm also uses a similar program I believe.

I should say that I am no computer expert. Just an Environment Engineer that has an interest in computer security and virus control.

Definition of an Environment Engineer you ask?
One who is employed to sweep floors and pick up stuff. ;)

End of rant.
