What sort of temp should an Athlon T-bird 1gig CPU be running at?? Not overclocked or anything and its about 54 deg C at idle. Does that sound right or is that too hot??
Cheers

maybe ,like was said already, you should look at upgrading your cpu hs/fsn,a real good one is the "Volcano 7" made by ThermalTake. it's $15 at
www.newegg.com
review here (http://www.mikhailtech.com/articles/heatsinks/ttvolcano7/) , something like that will lower your temps. :)
and you could also take a look at your case cooling, what fans do you have in the case to clear out the hot air and create a flow inside the box? you could add an 80mm intake in the front and a 80mm exhaust in the rear of the case.that would help alot too.80mm fans are only around 5 to 10$.

Ive got a coolermaster heatsink and fan......One 80mm fan sucking air in through he front of the case and one 80mm fan sucking air through the back.....and an exhaust taking the hot air out at the bottom. Does this sound bout right????
Many Cooler Master and Thermal take fans (the lower end ones) are usually used by OEM's and the like to save money when they build a box.
I would look into purchasing a quality Heatsink/fan combo

I have a 1.1 G t-bird its running at 47c with a case temp of 24c. Room temp is 22c. I was running around 52 before I modified my case to let more air in the front. I have one 80 cm drawing air in and a 90 pushing air out. One bay cooler(3 small fans) drawing in and PS pushing out. I consider 50 warm but not hot for a Athlon. But hey cooler is always better.
PS: My T-bird has the original "Cooler Master" that it came with.
