hi,

is there a way to block certain activex certificates over a proxy?

in my proxy's ban list i cud only block the url itself (over my w/s)...
what i really want is to block certificates specially the one with 'dialers' that automatically installs in ur pc (e.g. pornsites or cometcursor). i cud ban the url containing 'cometsystems' or 'cometcursor', but what about those sites that doesnt contain 'comet...' in their url but installs the same certificate.
like this one: http://devoted.to/kurtty

i cannot afford to educate users from 50 workstations not to click 'yes' when these certificates appear. f1 pls.

What a nasty peice of work that site is. Popup hell if you allow it to happen.

How much of the "Custom Level" options in Tools>Options>Security is needed to allow your 50 workstations to do their work? How much of that list can be turned to "disable" or "prompt"?

Just one caution with Pitstop Autofixes:

They recommend you only use the fixes after testing says it will help. The IE autofix will only do what you can do manually.

The link is to a site that will guide you through the securing process.

Use the links at the top of the page to get the info you want.

So, did you walk the dog?
