Not sure if this counts as high quality, taken with a borrowed Fujitsu 2.3 megapixel on a picnic a couple of weeks ago.

you must be a dig camera newb ;)

megapixels are only important if you print the pictures out on paper

it has nothing to do with quality of the pic as an image file ;)

that’s not entirely true

0.85MP digi cams look like webcams and i can notice a huge difference in picture quality between a 1MP and a 6MP camera

Nikon Coolpix 800...I took this right after I hit a $1200 jackpot in Las Vegas last October. Right afterward, a security guard got all over me about taking pictures in the casino.

Some plant I found whilst at work. Called rattlesnake plant I believe. Found it at the entrance of a smallish cave. Lotsa mosquitos, and looked scary inside, so I didn't probe it.
Oh, Sony DSC-S70 3.2 megapixel, marco lens(Carl Zeiss)

I'm still learning with my dig cam.

most of the pics posted here are very big, so is it with digital camera's the bigger the better? or are most here just big cuz they are?

What is the best setting to put my camera to get the best quality?

The higher the resolution the photo is taken at the more you have to work with, resizing, cropping, detail.Always resize to a lower resolution, never larger.

The size of the images are related to the pixel resolution.

On the digital side of the equation, best quality will have the highest pixel resolution with the least compression. The camera side of the equation becomes a question of lens/camera quality and artistic intent.

Brembo, I've got the same camera, 3.3 is on mine. Where did you get the macro lens? I checked out a few lenses but I'm not sure which is best.
