Erratic cable

Today I got road runner cable installed in my new place. I check it out and download some files here and there and it's nice and quick, as I'm used to (had roadrunner across the street in my old apt.)

Well, later on I sit down for a little gaming session. My pings are through the roof. After testing some more I find that it's fluctuating between about 100 and up to 2500. I'm obviously disappointed, so I get to tweakin. I try out other games and find I still have the fluctuating, so it's not game specific.

While looking around for answers to my problem on the web, I notice that my surfing and downloading seems to be fluctuating as well.

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it greatly.

Take a look at this post (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?threadid=31779). Once you post your test results... we can see if tweaking will help, or if you have a ISP problem.

Thanks...got it workin' properly now...just decided to do a clean install, and bam, works ;)
