I recently got a cable connection in my apartment. My roomate and I are wanting to share out the connection, and I'm considering looking into a wireless router. I've looked at SMC 7004AWBR Barricade Wireless Broadband Router and D-Link Wireless Broadband Router DI-713P routers. Is one of these better for gaming? There shouldn't be any more than two computers on the Internet at the same time. One computer will probably be wired directly to the router through CAT5 cable, so it should not suffer to bad of ping degradation, should it? What about my roomate's computer that is connected wirelessly? Are there any other routers (wired or wireless, preferably wireless though) that would be any better?

Thanks

If you're into gaming, I'd kick up and get out of the walmart routers, into something a bit better, like a NetGear wireless model.

Best home router, although not wireless, but it's marketed for gamers, Nexland ISB SOHO.

There's a brand called Compex which I'm a bit leary about, looks like a Toys R Us router...but to be fair, saw some benchmarks on it and for a wireless router....it did very well.

I was wanting to stay away from wired, because then I wouldn't have to run wires all over the floor and ceiling (can't run wires through the wall or under the floor, not really my place, just renting). Although I suspect I may be running wires across the floor anyway, because I don't know how keen my roomate is on the wireless stuff. But another reason I'm looking at wireless is because I have a laptop and a PDA. I think it would be cool to be able to go anywhere in the place with either of those devices and view webpages. Catch up on the news in the kitchen while I drink my coffee. Anyway, your opinions are greatly appreciated.
