I'm having a weird problem, I can run certain online games perfectly normal but others I lag out within a few minutes, my upload speed seems to be horrible but my download speed is normal. I'm not sure why/how but it's been like this a couple days, my tech support from my ISP is crap so I was wondering if anyone knew of possible errors ...

Windows ME
P3 733
384 mb ram

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; Win 9x 4.90)
Note: Read the FAQ if the above is not your IP address.

TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 256960
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 64240
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 10278.4 kbps (1284.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 4111.36 kbps (513.92 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 46 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

Well your tweak isn't the problem. It looks great. Someone will be along to look at other things in a bit.

Welcome to Speed Guide.

What type of connection and what are your rated speeds?

It's a cable connection, but I'm not sure what you mean by "rated speeds"

He means your ISP's caps, what speed you are paying for or what they advertise as their max speed. If you don't know post a link to your ISP's homepage.:)

This is what your talking about then

640Kbps Down and 512Kbps up is what they are advertsising for the plan we bought.

OK great, please read "My Tips" in my sig and follow the suggestions and try the following with the TCPOptimzer:

Settings tab:

select - DSL
check - custom settings
network adapter selection - your NIC
check modify all adapters
maxmtu - 1500
TTL - 64
TCP Receive Window - 7300/8760/11680/14600/23360/39420
MTU Discovery - yes
Black Hole Detect - no
Selective Acks - yes
Max Dup ACKs - 2
TCP 1323 Options - uncheck both boxes*
(* if using TCP Receive Window of 65535 or higher check windows scaling)

Other Settings tab:

Max Connections per Server - 10
Max Connections per 1.0 Server - 20
Lan Browsing Speedup - optimized

Then select "Apply Changes" and reboot to take effect.

Hasn't seemed to change much, but I think I was wrong... my connection must be listed as 3200/512 kbps because I used the speed test with speakeast.net and I got this average after doing the test 10times...
2995.2/57.9

Higest down was 3873 but I got one low of 1655 and the up got as low as 11 and high as 161

Who is your ISP? Your caps determine what size RWIN to use.:)

Cable America .. www.cableamerica.com or php.cableaz.com

OK try the following RWINs:

49640/61320/74460/99280/148920/249660 and remember to check windows scaling if using RWIN 65535 or higher.:)

Well I can say my upload improved but not by much, when i used the rwin of 49640 I was constantly laggin so I changed to 249660 seems to be like it was before

Hasn't changed with any of the Rwins any other possible solutions? Going to see if it's server side which I doubt it would be for so long.
