My friend has AOL RoadRunner and for some reason MSN Messenger says that it doesn't see an internet connection
She uses Windows 98SE
What could be the problem???

Have heard in the past about AOL blocking access to their network for 3rd party messaging apps.......
But I have another friend w/ aol and msn messenger and they can log in fine.
I do know that if you have parental controls on it blocks msn messenger from starting. But my friend doesn't have parental controls on so I don't know what else it could be.
I have AOL Cable (for another 2 weeks too! Then its Earthlink fer me!)
I use Trillian and MSN works fine.

Get rid of the AOL software. Dont need it. Wanna access there features go to www.aol.com samething without the software.
Yeah well my friend wants the AOL software.

Well dont know what to say...AOL tends to take over the network settings expecially 7.0...Try downgrading software to 6.0
JUST GET RID OF IT
Well it looks like the problem is fixed. She just needed to be logged in as an account without parental controls.
I guess the parental controls block other messenger services -_-'
