Linux "installed viewer"

i just installed linux red hat 7.2... and i d/led "imic" but when i right click and chose open, a box comes up and says "nautilus has no installed viewer capable of displaying .blah blah blah.." im jsut woundering how the heck do i open this or any other file...? thx you for who ever answers...

Open up a console.

Navigate to the downloaded file.
./file_name

see if that works
