game updates...

I got unreal tournament and half life but cannot update them...i dont have a cd for unreal so what do i say when it asks for one? should i copy all the files to a cd? and how do i update half life? i have the latest update but i dont know where to extract the files

You have to download the newest update for HalfLife from someplace like FilePlanet.com and then put that file into your root folder for HL. Then, just run it!

That is for HL......not sure about Unreal.

BTW, the newest update for HL is version 1.1.1.0.

I havent really made my problems easy to follow...

Half Life...working with latest patch great (thanks jumpinduo) but whenever i try to connect to a multiplayer game it says valve cannot use your current cd key

Unreal Tournament...When it starts it keeps trying to load some Xaudio but it cant do it, and i cant patch it becuase i dont have a cd for it

Quake 3...working great but where do i get the latest patch?

Etc etc.

UT is very system intensive, wants the latest drivers for everything, latest windows updates, latest direct X, so make sure your sound, video, and direct X is up to date.

none of that helped, unreal now says when i try to install the update that my "some god forsaken file" is not the expected one so unreal cant be patched, i was going to try an old patch but i cant find a place where i can get one for free, gd gamespot, rip off

the files followed by the programs when you look at the cdrom in "my computer" errr...
