Hi

I have installed WIN2K SP2 and whenever I open up IE5, it always says

'No connection to the internet is currently available.
To view internet content that has been saved on your
computer, click work offline.

Click Try Again to attempt to connect'

I am on ADSL using Efficiebt 3060. I will get connected immediately when I hit the "Try again" button. I do not have this problem when using WIN98. I have re-install and setup the connection as per normal in WIN2K but pblm still exist.

This is very irritating and do any of you have a suggestion. Tks.

Tks ZXC n MadDoctor for replying

I have a feeling that it is some setting either in the Efficient 3060 ADSL card or on the IE. Anyone out there running efficient 3060 on WIN2K SP2?

Upgrade to IE 6.0
If ya have Zone Alarm get rid of it
Also check Add/Remove programs in control panel for 'savenow" and/or "new.net"

I wouldn't recommend that. Why for do you say that?

Run the INTERNET connection wizard, or click on the connect to the INTERNET icon and you should be back in business.

Some software installs *Enternet* for example, can make MSIE lose knowledge that you are connected fulltime to the Internet.

Solution 1 .. Try repair
Go to control panel, add/remove programs, find explorer 5.5, highlight that and click REPAIR. After the reboot, it should be fixed

Solution 2 .. Quit any PPPoE service (Enternet Access Manager/WINPoet) etc first.
Look in the registry
Using regedit, find the folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WebCheck
And check these two *String* keys are set to auto or yes
"LoadSens"="auto"
"LoadLCE"="auto"
Create them if necessary!
