Getting stomped in UO...

That's /really/ sad.. does anyone have any advice for me to use? I know I suck, but still...

What are your controls?

w - forward
s - reverse
a - left
d - right

Always move when shooting. I always like to strafe around in circles, switching directions like a mofo, and sometimes, when I'm strafing and need to dodge something, I either double strafe to the left, right, or back. When there's low gravity or stuff of that nature, just jump around when someone has a rocket launcher as it's too slow if you keep moving. My favorite gun is a sniper, I use it for close-range combat. Yeah, people move really fast, especially at 150%, but with practice, you can get headshots every time. I only switch for a redeemer or a rocket launcher (multiple enemies in a group.)

Yep,

1.) Never Stand still

2.) Learn how to dodge/double-strafe effectively

3.) I try not to jump too much cause it's easy to predict where you are going to land and is slow.

4.) Learn/Memorize the in's and out's of every Map.

5.) **Join a server and watch other players tactics in spectator mode. You could learn a lot of tricks.

6.) repeat steps 1. and 2. ;)

7.) Try the mutator called "Instagib", it's one shot .. one kill, it's really fun and helps you with your aim. Since it is one shot .. one kill and fast it helps you learn to not stand still and dodge:D

As far as display:

-I run my resolution at 1024x768
-High Detail Skins
-Low Detail World (Distracting for me to see the pretty walls)
**Both running your resolution at 1024x768 and High Detail Skins makes it easier for you to see players at farther distances.

Gore = Off
Background Sound = Off
Weapon = Hidden
Crosshair = i use the tiny dot
View Bob = Off

If glare bothers you from lights or if you want to see in water more clearly:
-In UT press "~" (without quotes) to bring up your console window.
-type in PREFERENCES and hit ENTER
-it will take a minute to load but when the small menu loads....
-Go to RENDERING and turn CORONA'S to FALSE.

something that might help keen your ut senses is to play the regular game on the fastest mode on a hard difficulty level...
