View Full Version : WHY does my cd rom drive spin up when I click the dropdown button on IE address bar?
whenever I open up explorer, and click the dropdown button on the address bar, before the site lists come up, my cd drive spins its ass off. why?
Have you ever accessed a link from a CD?
could have, but who knows. whats important is the way to stop it from doing that, soes anyone know?
Take the CD out of the tray
First you say it happens in IE then you say it's happening in Explorer. Which is it?
When ever you access "My Computer", which is part of the drop down in Explorer, all drives are mounted, so if there is a CD in the tray, it will spin up and be mounted as well.

If you have typed in your cd letter from your browser recently it could be listed in the history, causing IE to acces the cdrom to update the cd title in the list.
