Every since the uproar over the G@H vs F@H3 we have been losing ground to the Frogs, guys. We have had some members switch or outright leave.

We need to decide what the future direction of the team should be. AMDMB is now only 14 days from overtaking us. As I posted in an earlier thread we are not that far away from an amazing 500,000 work units returned, which would put us in like 15th place.

That would represent a great effort on everyones part, particularly over the last few months, since the froggies showed up with all the "stomp" talk. The response by everyone here at Speedguide has been great, and we have really made them work to pass us.

Can we get EVERYONE to put a push on to reach 500K, this would really put SpeedGuideTeam over the top in this effort.

I would like to suggest we make a TEAM decision as to what the future should be for us.

1. Should we continue with G@H?
2. Should we go out with a shout at 500K?
3. What do you think we should do? All move to the SG F@H team? Start a new F@H team with everyone starting at zero? Challenge AMDMB team to do the same and keep up the friendly competition? Any ideas on your part?

As some of you may know, Jughead and I and a couple of others started G@H over 15 months ago, and it's been a great run. I want to thank everyone for this no matter what direction we might go. Our results have been a great TEAM effort.

I think this throws the floor open for discussion.

1.) I will never abandon the G@H team that I joined.
2.) I will Genome till stanford no longer supports this client.
3.) Then more than likely I will either join on a newly created F@H3 Speedguide team with loyal Genome@Home'ers or create my own team.

i dont understand why people are changing teams, our weekly production has dropped considerably.

we definately need to hit the big 500K

we should probably change to F@H3 when the final version comes out

Too bad to hear that some you guys are losing members. Over at AMDMB.com we're been able to stay around the 33 active members area.

Yeah...the whole F@H3 issue is pretty crazy. It would be easier if Stanford gives the users to run either Genome or Folding on F@H3 and count the WU toward each project.

I brought up the idea of creating a new team under Folding using F@H3 client in AMDMB.com, but a lot of people on our team are crunching both Folding and Genome, so that can cause some problems.

Watch out, we frogs are stronger than ever, we'll over take you very soon. :p

Definitely keep gnoming until we reach the 500,000 mark. Then, probably join up with Speedguide F@H team, as it doesn't make much sense to me to have 2 SG folding teams. Although continuing the competition with AMDMB does sound like fun. There may be another option also. Stanford has talked about allowing the users of F@H3 to have the option to choose which client to run, ie G@H or F@H with the stats going to either F@H2 or G@H classic. If Stanford does supply this option, then we could all switch over to F@H3 and just run the G@H client. Just a thought.

Well Guys, . 500.000 K would be a very respectable accomplishment. If we all agree, I say we go for it and see what happens.
I personally can't see dropping one project team because of rumors ( no offical word yet ) to jump on board an established team in mid stride-that just don't make sense to me.
I really like the idea of starting over from zero, getting a new client with improved science capability, the right to choose which project I would like to participate in, would be great.
Being involved in friendly competition with AMDMB made the project more interesting so here's my invitation to them to join us in this discussion.

I'm staying put with the genoming for now...I'm crunching about 1100 units a week, and I plan on keeping that rate going for awhile :)

I am also sticking with genome until something official is mentioned. I know it's the effort that counts and all but, I haven't been folding because it takes too long to get results. I haven't been doing Seti either. It seems that I get more/faster results with genome. I was running all three at once but, it took forever to get any completed units from either of the three and I DID notice a major slowdown on my machine.

My four machines will keep Genoming until the team says otherwise, I agree with Indy and The Snake, besides I still wanna beat them froggies!

I'm also with Indy, Snake, Mike and Zuma. I also think that the final decision is on what Stanford (ever) decides to do with their software adn what abilities, or lack thereof, it has on what client we can or can't choose to use.

In the long run what's best for the longterm research at Stanford is what I'll choose and I hope our team(s) join up with an equally teamlike goal. Not only for the pride and the numbers, but for the research, which is what this is all about anyway.

In the meantime, my systems are happy in Genome-Land.

At the current output rate we should reach 500,000 on July 4th, how interesting.

I believe everyone that you see active on the Barbarian Frog Team, is now in it until we get official word that the project is ending or that the work that we are doing is "just for points". When it gets to either of those situations, we'll move to another DC program, hopefully one that has the no-netting feature.

If Stanford pulls their head out, and adds a no-net feature and client selection with points going to G@H Classic, to F@H3, you may see us there a lot sooner. Until then, we're knockin' them gnomies down using G@H classic.http://forumnz.com/images/smilies2/cheers.gif
