Hello, I am currently on a Cable connection, I saw this advertisement for ADSL and it was $15 cheaper. Is there a difference in speed/quality?? Which would you choose?

That's like asking which is better, the blue car or the red car.

How about some detail?

Who is your current ISP, where are you from, what DSL ISP where you looking at, and how fast is your current line? Pick the one that is closest to you and run it; http://www.speakeasy.net/main.php?page=sup_pops

Also, cable is rarely more expensive than DSL.

okay... so you think your download cap rate is 1 mbit/second, how about the upload cap rate? That also goes into price as well! And what does the Telus adsl company advertise their speeds to be capped at? I'de assume from my DSL knowledge, around here in Massachusetts, most DSL lines are capped at around 768/128, in kbits, which is more than 2 times slower than what i have which is AT&T cable. Dsl is also it's own line, so you won't be slowed down at any part of the day where as cable is on a network of lines in an area. So if there are a lot of people online at the same time in your designated area,,, your speeds will be effected. Try to get a little more information on both companies.. what you have and what you were thinking of getting, it will help people give you good suggestions!

You do have to consider Telus does have a 5gig transfer limit a month downstream and 1gb upstream. I understand that is rarely enforced though.

1.5mbps/512kbps is the standard residental Telus plan.

I think i'm goin to stick with cable, my friend tells me that ADSL in particular absolutely blows, although the price is right.

the ADSL like cable depends a lot on the cable / phone lines between you and the server, if there bad old lines your not going to get goood, speed. all so for both how far you are from the server can make difference. in your case if the lines are good, go with the DSL it should be faster.
