OK, I love to get into arguments -- everyone knows that.:)
In another forum I recently posted the WELL-KNOWN "MaxConnectionsPerServer" tweak that can be found near the bottom of this page:
http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_registry_advanced.shtml
And that is also CLEARLY described and documented in the MS Knowledge Base here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q282402
One of the moderators on the board chided me because "it's 'bandwidth hogging' ". He also stated it "makes your IE a 'non-standard' browser. This will prevent you accessing certain websites, logging on to servers (eg for on-line games such as DAoC) etc."
His closing statements were that "this one should be a no-no".

First off, I do not believe any registry tweak can suck up other people's bandwidth, nor can any registy tweak increase the bandwidth for which you are paying. Second, I don't believe that TCP/IP or HTTP is able to transmit this registry information from your computer to a server. Therefore, there is no clear way for this tweak to prevent you accessing a site -- that I can figure out...
I would love to hear other opinions. Thank you.
