I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, but I sure as heck can't find it. When I double-click my LAN connection and see all the information like time connected and activity, it only shows up in packets for the activity. My other computer shows this in bytes and I would prefer that. Anyone know how to change this? I am using Windows XP Home Edition. Thanks

Yep!

Here is a piece from Microsoft's Knowledge base telling you how the status screen gets its info . For those of you who are too lazy to follow the link, the status screen is adapter specific. What you see on there is determined by the type of NIC you have and what it reports to the OS. To solve your problem you would need to replace your NIC with same kind your other PC has.MS Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q296669)

this is an educated guess.. but windows XP comes with a default MTU speed of 1500. that is 1500 bytes per packet

say your comptuer has sent 100 packets, tahts 150000 bytes.. about 1.5 megs

im most likely wayyyyyy off on this one, but i tried oh well
