I'm trying to figure out. Usually I do it through editing registry, but I just want to learn how. Thanx in advance.

Thanx. That was quick.

Some questions:

Process Priority...do you set this to normal or just idle?

So ones the service is up and running I don't need FireDaemon anymore right?

You set it to normal. Otherwise (atleast on my machine) it never runs. I'm pretty sure you need to leave firedaemon installed.

The F@H and G@H processes were designed to run at idle priority. If you run it at normal you have a good chance of slowing your system down when you are running other intensive apps at the same time.

I don't personally run G@H but I had all my old F@H1 processing running perfectly at idle priority. This is not an issue with F@H2 as it spawns another process that runs at idle reguardless of what you set the main .exe priority at.

LukeMan might have some more info on G@H specifically but I would suggest running it at idle.

As far as I remember FireDaemon needs to remain installed for it's service spawn to run but I may be wrong here. If you look at the service that FireDaemon creates for your G@H I believe it points to the FireDaemon.exe itself which in turn spawns the process you chose to run. I may be wrong since I am not at a system that I use FireDaemon on atm.

Thanx for the quick replies. So you need FireDaemon installed in order to run Genome as service, but do you need to run FireDaemon at the same time?

The FireDaemon executable will run in order to load the executables you chose to install as a service using the GUI. So yes FireDaemon has to be running at the same time.

Thanx btracy. :)

Sounds like a pain though. I think I'll use the registry edit method just like how I did it before.

Hehe sounds good but it is not a pain.

You literally install the program, setup the service in under 1 minute with the GUI and never do anything again.

It's totally painless, totally invisible. you also set up G@H Monitor with Firedaemon to clear badwork if it crashes and burns. Why muck with the registry if you don't have to?
