OK ...
I run xp pro and love it by the way. I put in a nic card that a freind gave me. its a intel pro 100+ pci. after looking it up I found that it retails for over 100.00 cause it is a server card of some type and has chip on it.
Now. I figured out that i had to manually add a d word string to registry to enablelize the chip. that took care of the problem i had whenever I rebooted, ( it took forever to sighn onto net)
Question:
When I go to properties in device manager and look at said nic card under advanced I find alot more options then Im used to seeing there. And I have no idea what the mean or do. After a little research I came up with a blank on what they do. Intel is not very helpfull on this subject. If you can help please do...thanks....
windows XP pro. with over 1000 pc 133 ram and a 80 gig hd at 7200rpm, all in wonder radeon ddr 32 meg vid card, creative audigy gamer sound blaster, running through a linksys 4 port router set to gateway mode with static ips manually set to each pc through tcp/ip configuration. My currently have adsl gold with 1500 down and 386 up.
Following are all the different settings that I can change in manager:
adaptive inter-framingg spacing.....adaptive technology.....adaptive transmit threshold......basic connectivity for no resource.....coalesce buffers....flow control settints.....link speed & duplex....locally administered address....offloading.....pci bus effiecency....
vettskikinyoass: priority level definition.....qos packet tagging....recieve buffers...respond to flow control...retransmit inter-frame spacing...transmit control blocks...
thank you
