I want to install G@H (I'm still keeping 2 computers on F@H, don't worry :D) on my brothers computer, but he's dumb and dosen't want to let me.
I want to know if I could start it up in the background, and if so, how?

Ask Dakota about this, he mentioned that he had a prog that will do that
I use Watchcat, and I found out about it here, from someone else, ehom I cannot remember. It allows you to 'hide' ANY Windows tasks. It's small and unobtrusive. Check it out at: http://www.tucows.com/system/preview/194360.html

Use FireDaemon and Monitor see this link
G@H Tools (http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74914)
FireDaemon all the way. Nothing like running it as a service. That is how I run all my FaH clients.

I've added a list of links to the sticky thread as well: http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77057

Maybe we could add this one too? It's the step by step guide on how to set G@H and F@H using FireDaemon.

Thanks for adding those Phillip!

cool, ill put this on my win2k machines at school :D
since its a service, it'll run in the background for any user right?
FireDaemon makes my cat meow. Very cool. Runs 100% in the background. Very clean and unobtrusive. Definite thumbs up. Let's make sure and get everyone informed of the new version when this one times out in July though. TIA.

this might work (http://www.pccritix.com/distributed/genome/window.asp) just posted in another thread
If you're running the client in XP or 2000 you can run it as a service.

That's a nice post Tawcan, but FireDaemon is a much more user friendly way to do it. A lot of people really shouldn't be mucking around in the registry, ya know.
Thanks again, and you are welcome to join the SG G@H team!;)
