Do your cookies get deleted at random?

I'm on XP Pro (about to scrap this install and put Win2K back on to be truthful), have done a full virus (latest defs)/disk/Ad-aware/etc. scan with nothing malignant floating around and I have no third-party software that does it, but at random my cookies just disappear. It's no terrible crime, but it's weirding me out. Anyone else having this problem?

sometimes i have the same thing happen on my XP home version, no big deal to me.

Nope, I have the cookie controls turned off in ZA. Hmm...
