hi,

i just installed Linux-Mandrake 8.2 and the installation went with no problem BUT when i boot in order to start linux up i get NTLDR is missing press Ctrl+alt+del to restart .

i got that mesage after i see the Verifying DMI pool data and cd-rom boot .. failed

why is that ?? did i do something wrong ???

i have a 30GB HDD on which i made 2 partitions with Partition Magic.

HELPS PLASE . I ve reinstalled it 2 times before posting what can i do ????

Stef is better to answer this, where did you install the boot loader? Try to use the rescue disks that you made and boot from there. Grub should have the other OS shown in there.

I've gotten the same error in both Windows 2000 SP2 and Windows XP Pro...I'm curious as to the answer as well.

I found this:


boot up system with W2K set up disk, choose "repaire win 2000", select "console", when prompt for administrator' password just leave it blank and enter, type "Fixboot" (if it does not work then type "HELP /?" to have a list of command so you can choose the right command you want)


AND


NTLDR is located in the i386 folder of your XP cd. Copy it to the root of c:\

what what happend is that i had 2 partitions and the PC thought that windows was on one of the partiotions because of the NTFS thing but after i install LILO inorder to choose on which partition to start everything was fine
