Well... Actually Im running Direct CD and I hate it. It ALWAYS finds a way to either keep EZCD 5.1 Plat from burning, wont eject, or completely locks up. Also, EZCD locks up while burning aand its creating too many coasters. Im considering switching over COMPLETELY to Nero but I need to ask a question first.

When you format a 650 MB CDRW with Direct CD, you can only use 529 MB of the CD for actual file storage. Does InCD do the same thing? Is it more stable than Direct CD? Is there aything I should know about InCD before I convert over to InCD besides the fact that I cant run EZCD 5.1 anymore?

Thats all I need to know. Thanks in advance....

:D

Well I really don't have a answer for you about the format size with Nero .. but who cares, CDR's are so cheap now why even bother with CDRW's

First direct cd has Nothing to do with ezcd 5.1. You CAN run one without the other.
Second why are you using cdrw's? You can use a regular cdr for writing and rewriting under direct cd or any kind of packet writing program you dont need to use the cdrw's.
Third yes any time you format a cd for packet writing it will take some amount of space from your overall storage. There all about the same, incd, direct cd, prassi etc they all take about the same amount of space to format.

Well, you cant install EZCD 5 without having Direct CD installed also. And if Direct CD starts acting up, it wont let EZCD have control of the burner. Been there, done that!

I use CDRW's just so I can erase crap that I dont want off of the CD's You cant do that with a CDR. I dont use my CDRW's that often anyway. Most of my stuff is on my second HD (about to add a third...)

Oh well, I guess I cant do anything abut that...

THANKS!!!

you can format a regular cdr with direct cd or any packet writing program. Then you can add or remove files at ease until you finalize the cd ( which you never have to do) The cd will be readable in any cd rom that has direct cd installed.

Only problem is... u can reuse or write to the written area of the CD.

That part sucks...

:(

Huh? dont understand that statement?

Lemme rephrase...

Say there is 600MB of free space on the CD and you write 50MB of data on the CD. If you delete that 50MB of data and check the properties, you will only have 550MB of free space. This is AFTER you delete the other 50MB!

I think I'll stick with CD-RW's...
