View Full Version : Dead Gateway detection???
How could this tweak improve performance?
Create a new DWORD value (or string for Windows 98) called "DeadGWDetect" and set it to equal "0" to disable dead gateway detection or "1" to enable it.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Value Name: DeadGWDetect
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = disabled, 1 = enabled)

Settings like that are the ones I leave set to default.
Mess around with it.. maybe you'll notice a speed difference.. or maybe you'll need to format. :D
If you read it on a site try it and see if it works for you:) :)
I got that from www.regedit.com but don't know too much about dead gateways soooo....I'm a bit stumped.
