I have the basic ADSL installed at home with pacific bell. Everything works fine until I tried to log on to my company's network using proprietary software (Nortel Extranet) through VPN. Connection always failed with a time out error. After several months of support calls and tries, I learned that Pacific Bell DSL does not support VPN. Even though in their website I cannot find anything to confirm this, I called them tech support up a couple of times and I got the same answer.
Does anybody else run into this ? I understand other carriers such as Verizon DSL and Adelphia powerLink (cable modem) both supports VPN. Why does pacific bell not support it ?
